The site for the Indian Railways, www.irctc.com has revolutionized the way in which railway bookings are made in the country. Its no longer necessary to wait at the booking counter way ahead of the opening time. You can register at the site for free and start booking tickets at the click of a mouse. They charge a nominal fee for processing but believe me! Its definitely worth it rather than having to go out in the sun and wait in a long queue that gets longer as you get near the counter. As one grows every year, the brain accumulates more and more information and the speed with which the information can be recovered depends on how organized the information is and how fast has the brain been trained to map and fetch references. Some ways in which the brain can be trained to be active and awake is to break the routine. When the body is trained to do something on a habitual basis, the excellence of the human design is to become able to do it without any real effort going into it. This is how you take the turn at the right place, from work to home even when you're listening to music or talking to a friend by your side. So when you're doing a routine, you can be sure that your brain is virtually uninvolved. So to make it awake, break the routine! Vocabulary, in my personal opinion is not mere knowledge of a number of contemporary words but the ability to start using them in your everyday lingo at college, at work, amidst friends. Don't take it a level where it is easily misunderstood for being bombastic. Vocabulary, in addition also implies the ability to recognize roots of words and trying to interpret an unknown word's meaning, given the context in which the word under question is being used. So how can one build a vocabulary? 1) When you have just entered junior high school or college, start reading books intended to introduce you to a horde of new words , (no, no not a dictionary).
